UPDATED on 6/26/24- Suspects Pose as Federal Agents During Robbery

Second Incident: June 19, 2024/ 4:30 PM

Suspect 1: Male, Hispanic, 25-30 years old, 5'06" tall, brown hair and brown eyes, clean-cut with no facial hard, wearing dark glasses, a white long sleeve dress shirt, dark colored dress pants, and possible a replica ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) badge around his neck. 
Suspect 2: Male, Hispanic, 25-30 years old, 5'04" tall, 210 lbs., black buzzcut hair, brown eyes, and no facial hard, wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt, grey tactical "Security" vest, and black jeans.
Suspect  Vehicle: Blue SUV

California Penal Code 211- Robbery

California Penal Code 538d- Impersonating a police officer

 

UPDATED: On 06/24/24, the Anaheim Police Department arrested two male suspects in connection with this robbery series where suspects identified themselves as federal agents. The same individuals have been identified as suspects in the Westminster robberies (described below). It is believed the suspects have committed similar robberies throughout Orange County. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Westminster Police Department continues to investigate all workable leads and is also looking for any other potential victims. WPD urges anyone who witnessed these robberies to contact Detective Sam Gradilla at 714-548-3778, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS or by logging on to www.occrimestoppers.org. Callers can remain anonymous. Please refer to the Anaheim Police Department for any further information regarding the arrest of the two suspects.

 WESTMINSTER, Calif. -On June 15, 2024, at about 12:30 PM, an adult male victim was riding a bicycle in the area of Newland Street and Westminster Blvd. when he was approached by the two suspects in a blue SUV. The suspects told the victim to stop and claimed to be undercover immigration agents. The suspects demanded money from the victim or the victim would be deported. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, the suspects fled eastbound on Westminster Blvd.

The second incident occurred on June 19, 2024, at about 4:30 PM, when a second male adult victim was walking through a parking lot located in the 14000 block of Magnolia Street. The victim was approached by the two suspects who were driving in a blue colored SUV. The suspects claimed to be immigration agents and one of the suspects was possibly wearing a replica ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) badge. The victim could see into the vehicle and saw a black handgun in plain view on the center console. The suspects demanded the victim’s wallet and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the wallet before driving away in an unknown direction.

The Westminster Police Department Major Crimes Unit is investigating all workable leads.
