Vehicle Incentive Program

In an effort to generate additional sales tax revenue, create additional and retain local jobs, and enhance economic vitality, the City has collaborated with Westminster auto dealers to develop the Vehicle Incentive Program (VIP). The Program will benefit both residents and local businesses by incentivizing the purchase or lease of vehicles from local auto dealers.  Westminster residents and business owners that purchase a new or used vehicle, or lease a new vehicle, from a franchised Westminster auto dealer will be given a $500 rebate.

 Participating Dealerships

  1.  Elmore Toyota – 15300 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA
  2.  Lexus of Westminster – 13590 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA
  3.  Orange Coast Infiniti – 15550 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA
  4.  Honda World Westminster – 13600 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA

 Eligibility Requirements

  • Qualified residents must be able to provide proof of Westminster residency to dealership by registering their new purchase in Westminster and one of the following:
    •  Valid California Driver's License
    • Utility Bill
    • Property Tax Bill
    • Proof of Insurance
    • Bank Statement
  • Qualified businesses must provide proof of valid Westminster business license.
  • Qualified residents and businesses must sign a Westminster Resident/Business Rebate Form verifying residency and/or operation of business in Westminster. This form will be provided by the Participating Dealership at the time of purchase or lease.
  • $500 rebate will be applied towards the agreed upon purchase/lease price in the final sales contract.
  • Limited to two (2) per family/address or a limit of ten (10) per business address annually.

 Qualifying Vehicles

  • All purchases and leases of new cars or trucks are eligible.
  • All purchase of pre-owned cars or trucks with a final sales price of at least $25,000 (after all manufacturer rebates and dealer incentives) are eligible.
  • Motorcycles, off-road vehicles or watercraft are not eligible purchases under this program.

 Program Funding

The Program budget shall be limited to $600,000 per year. Therefore, the rebate will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis beginning on April 1st of each year.
