About Community Preservation Unit (CPU)
The CPU provides education and enforcement efforts to residents, renters, businesses, and property owners to enhance the aesthetics, livability, property values, and integrity of our residential neighborhoods and commercial frontages.
CPU Responsibilities
Ensure Basic Property Maintenance & Repairs are Performed by Property Owners
- Unmaintained landscaping
- Bare lawns/lack of landscaping
- Discards/trash on front yards/frontage
- Trash bins/trash enclosures
Assist with Public Right-Of-Way Issues
- Homeless encampments
- Abandoned items
- Graffiti
- Stray shopping carts
- Pole signs, garage signs
Enforce the Municipal Code for Temporary Signs/Screening
- Banners
- Swoop signs
- Excessive window coverage
- Inoperable Vehicles & Neighborhood Sweeps
