WESTMINSTER, Calif. - On 09/17/2024, at around 4:15 PM, Westminster Police responded to the intersection of Newland St. and Bolsa Av. in reference to a vehicle versus bicyclist traffic collision. The bicyclist was reportedly bleeding and down in the roadway.

Officers arrived to find the victim breathing, but unresponsive. The involved driver remained on scene and was cooperative. Personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority also arrived and they, along with WPD officers attempted life saving measures on the victim. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased.

The Westminster Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is currently on scene handling the investigation. It does not appear that impaired driving was a factor.
