Volunteering

The programs offered at the center are always in need of volunteers. Volunteers are linked to a program based on their level of interest. Volunteers are needed for the congregate meal program, delivering meals to the homebound seniors, assisting with special events, calling bingo, assisting with answering the phones, and many other volunteering opportunities. Please call (714) 895-2878 for further details regarding volunteer opportunities at the center.

VolunteersProject S.H.U.E.

This intergenerational program assists at risk children in 1st and 2nd grades by helping them to reach their grade level through mentoring and tutoring from senior volunteers. As a result, seniors gain experience as tutors in basic course work and obtain experience for future employment opportunities. This program is offered during the school year, Monday through Thursday, in the afternoons. Call the Westminster Senior Center to sign up as a volunteer tutor, (714) 895-2878.
