Fireworks Possession and Discharge - Municipal Code

  • Possession, sale or discharge of illegal fireworks--NOT bearing the State Fire Marshall seal. WMC 9.66.080 and WMC 9.66.190 (j) (Only “Safe and Sane” fireworks are permitted which bear the State Fire Marshall seal)
  • Toy cap pistols, caps, carbide cannons are prohibited. WMC 9.66.190 (i)
  • No person under the age of 16 may purchase fireworks. WMC 9.66.190 (c)
  • No person under the age of 16 may discharge fireworks without an adult present.WMC 9.66.190 (d)
  • Fireworks may only be sold June 30th-July 3rd 10am-10pm & July 4th 10am-9pm WMC 9.66.090
  • Fireworks may only be discharged on July 4th from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. WMC 9.66.090
  • Discharge of fireworks on public property is prohibited. WMC 9.66.190 (f)
    Fireworks may be discharged on residential streets –arterial streets are prohibited.WMC 9.66.190 (f)
  • No person shall discharge fireworks within 10 feet of any residence or structure.WMC 9.66.190 (h)
  • Authority of seizure and disposal of fireworks by law enforcement—illegal fireworks or those discharged in violation of this chapter or state law. WMC 9.66.220
  • Storage: fireworks must be kept in stand at all times WMC. 9.66.180 (A)
  • Watchperson: must be 21 yrs or older and present at all times during non-operational hours. WMC 9.66.180 (B)
