Young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 interested in law enforcement can volunteer part-time at the Westminster Police Department to gain work experience and first-hand knowledge of a career in law enforcement. To name a few, Explorers assist with traffic and crowd control at public events, learn to take fingerprints, process all bike licensing, participate in explorer competitions and ride-alongs, and may even conduct roof-top surveillance of automobiles in parking lots!
Youths enrolled in high school or college may be eligible by meeting minimum grade point average requirements and passing a background check for past delinquency.
