Licenses are required for all dogs in Stanton. Dog licenses must be renewed annually. Licenses are considered non-delinquent when they are renewed within 30 days of expiration. After 30 days, late fees are charged to renew.

Reasons for Licensing

  • Public Health: it ensures that your dog is vaccinated for rabies.
  • Legal Ownership: it provides proof that the dog legally belongs to you.
  • Compliance: It's the LAW.

Stanton Licensing Fees

For application fees, please visit City of Stanton Fee Schedule.

Dog License/Vaccination Renewal Notices are mailed out near the time that a previous license will expire. Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required to purchase a license. If your rabies vaccination expiration date on the renewal notice is current on the form, you need not provide additional proof. If we do not have record of your pet being spayed or neutered, proof must be shown to receive the sterilized discount.

Licenses are available through the mail. You must submit your check, rabies vaccination certificate, proof of sterilization (if applicable) and the pre-printed renewal form.
